    • BUA Group to Dangote: “No one is Above the Law no Matter How Highly Placed… Respect the judicial process”

      BUA Group has described the publication of Dangote Group wherein it stated that BUA misinterpreted the fact about a pending court case as untrue and laden with fraught misrepresentations. A statement by BUA Group explained that Dangote, in its hurry to twist facts, failed to justify the alleged misinterpretation in its publication but stylishly stated that it has appealed the judgement whilst accepting the recent court order,which granted BUA the right to peaceful possession and operations of three of its mining sites in Obu, Okpella in Edo State.

    • COVID19 UPDATE: JIGAWA, SOKOTO STATES RECEIVE AMBULANCES FROM BUA FOUNDATION.

      The Governors of Jigawa and Sokoto States today, received ambulances from the BUA Foundation to boost their fight against the dreaded Covid-19 coronavirus currently ravaging the world. This is coming as the NCDC announced over the weekend that the total number of cases have exceeded the 8,000 mark across the country.

    • BUA CEMENT PLC RELEASES AUDITED FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR 2019; REVENUE INCREASES BY 47.5% TO N175.52 BILLION.

      BUA Cement, Nigeria’s second largest cement company, has recorded a 47.5% increase in revenues of N175.52billion in its just released Full year results for the 2019 Financial Year on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The company’s Profits also increased by 69.1% from N39.17 billion in 2018 to N66.24 billion in 2019. BUA Cement Plc in its current form, is a business combination between CCNN Plc (Sokoto Cement) and BUA Cement Manufacturing Company’s Obu Cement Company which was completed in January 2020 and is currently listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), with a market capitalisation of N1.18 trillion ($3.3 billion), making it the third most capitalised company on the floor of the Exchange.

      BUA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of BUA Group today, announced that it has released N300million to the presidential task force on Covid-19 to aid logistics and the operations of the taskforce in line with the earlier pledge of Founder/Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu.

      EDO STATE – Africa’s leading cement giant, BUA Cement has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to its host communities in Edo State to cushion the negative effect of the precautionary measures put in place to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

      BUA has today, redeemed its pledge of N1billion to the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria by way of a confirmed funds transfer to the COVID-19 relief fund account with the Central Bank of Nigeria. In addition, the company also announced another donation of N300million to Sokoto, Edo and Ogun States to assist in galvanizing a coordinated response and adequate preparedness in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in this states. The donations to Sokoto and Edo States were on behalf of its Cement subsidiary, BUA Cement which has its major operations in those states whilst Ogun was also selected as a beneficiary due to its proximity to Lagos which had been the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria.

Nigeria Limited – one of Nigeria’s largest construction, engineering and mining companies. According to BUA, this was necessary to further deepen its investments in the infrastructure business in sub-saharan Africa.

      In its bid to deepen the Nigerian capital market and enhance the growth of the cement industry, BUA Group, one of Africa’s largest conglomerates, today, announced the consolidation of its cement business comprising the publicly listed 2million Mtpa Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc (CCNN) and 6million mtpa Obu Cement Company Plc. This disclosure was made in a filing to regulators. BUA also announced that its newest 3million metric tonnes cement plant which it started constructing in 2018 – the $450million dollars Sokoto Kalambaina II plant, is scheduled for completion in H2, 2020. With the consolidation and addition of the Sokoto Kalambaina II plant, this will bring BUA Cement’s total installed capacity across all its cement holdings to 11 million MTPA.
